Soul Survivors of Chicago is a Not For Profit organization, serving the Chicagoland area.
We are as strong as the community that holds us up! We can do more together, than we can do alone. Let’s come together, combining our abilities and passions to affect real change surrounding mental health, and the impact of trauma, violence, and suicide to ones overall well-being.
I'm excited to announce that I'll be presenting at #APA2022 on the topic: Suicide among Black youth and young adults in Chicago: Insights from a researcher and survivor.
Janelle Goodwill (faculty at Univ. of Chicago) and Rafiah Maxie, a licensed clinical social worker whose son died by suicide in 2020, will lead a discussion that integrates Dr. Goodwill's research with Ms. Maxie's personal experiences of survivorship
